"Anonymous" on Telegram means different things depending on how you send Stars. Under a channel post you can stay off the list of supporters. In a gift you can hide your name from everyone except the recipient. And Stars bought for a friend through Fragment arrive without the buyer's name.

## An anonymous Star reaction in a channel

A post with Star reactions shows a leaderboard of top senders — those who sent the most Stars. You don't have to be on it:

1. Tap the ⭐ reaction under the post and choose how many Stars to send.
2. Before sending, turn off "Show me in Top Senders".
3. Confirm.

You can also hide yourself after sending, with the same switch. The Stars still go to the channel, and the total under the post still grows. How these reactions work is in [Star reactions](https://shiba-bank.com/en/guides/star-reactions).

## An anonymous gift with a message

When you give a gift for Stars, turn on "Hide My Name". Then only the recipient sees your name and message, and everyone who opens their profile sees the gift without a sender. To the recipient the gift isn't anonymous: they know who it's from. More in [how to give a gift](https://shiba-bank.com/en/guides/send-telegram-gift).

## How to give Stars without your name

- **From the Telegram app.** My Stars has an option to gift Stars to friends. Such a gift arrives as a message in the chat, so the person sees who sent it.
- **Through the Shiba Bank bot.** The bot buys Stars for your friend's account through Fragment and doesn't ask Fragment to show the buyer — your name isn't attached to the Stars. Your friend sees their balance topped up, and the bot doesn't tell them who it came from.

To send Stars through the bot, tap "Buy Stars" → "As a gift" and enter your friend's @username. The minimum is 50 Stars; how many your friend needs is up to you.

> **Tip:** Want your friend to know the gift is from you? Tell them yourself — the bot won't.

## What can't be anonymous

- **Messages for Stars.** Whoever pays for a message is the one sending it: the recipient sees the sender.
- **A paid channel subscription.** Channel admins see subscribers in the subscriber list.
- **Spending in your Stars history.** All your spending is visible to you in My Stars and can't be deleted from there — [how to delete Stars and their history](https://shiba-bank.com/en/guides/delete-stars).

## FAQ

### How do I send a Star anonymously in a channel?
Turn off "Show me in Top Senders" when sending a Star reaction. Then you won't be on the list of supporters under the post.

### Does the channel see who sent Stars?
The post shows everyone who didn't hide themselves on the leaderboard. If you turned off "Show me in Top Senders", your name isn't on that list.

### Can I give Stars anonymously?
Yes, if you buy them for a friend through the Shiba Bank bot: the bot buys the Stars through Fragment without the buyer's name. A Stars gift from Telegram itself arrives as a message in the chat, and the recipient sees who sent it.

### Will the recipient know who sent an anonymous gift?
Yes. "Hide My Name" hides the name from people who view the recipient's profile, while the recipient sees the sender.
