A gift that "didn't arrive" or "disappeared" is most often still there: it is hidden on your profile or was converted into Stars. A gift arrives as a message in your chat with the sender — if that message is there, the gift is yours, and only the owner decides whether it shows on the profile. Below are the causes in order, with a way to check each one.

## First, check whether the gift arrived

When the sender has paid for a gift, the recipient gets a service message in their chat with the sender. If there is no such message, the gift most likely was not sent — see "The gift was not sent" below. If the message is there, the gift is yours, and the question is only where it is.

## The gift is hidden on your profile

A received gift doesn't always land on your profile by itself: that depends on your display setting. A gift that isn't displayed stays with you, but other people don't see it — and you can find it in My Profile → the Gifts tab.

- Open My Profile → Gifts, find the gift and choose Show (press and hold it; on a computer, right-click).
- To make new gifts appear on your profile on their own, open Settings → Privacy and Security → Gifts and choose whose gifts are shown.

If you are looking at someone else's profile, remember that hidden gifts are visible only to their owner. More in [gifts on your profile](https://shiba-bank.com/en/guides/hide-gifts-in-profile).

## The gift was converted into Stars

A regular gift can be converted into Stars within 7 days of receiving it, with the "sell for … Stars" button in the gift's card. After that the gift is gone, and you get fewer Stars than it cost. A confirmed conversion can't be undone. Check your Stars history: Settings → My Stars. More in [how to convert a gift into Stars](https://shiba-bank.com/en/guides/convert-gift-to-stars).

## The gift was sent anonymously

If the sender turned on Hide My Name, the gift is there, but other people see it without a sender. Telegram always shows you who the gift is from. How it works: [who sent a gift](https://shiba-bank.com/en/guides/who-sent-gift).

## The gift was not sent

A gift is paid for with Stars from the sender's balance. If there weren't enough Stars, the payment failed or a limited gift had sold out, the gift isn't sent and no message appears in your chat. Ask the sender to check their Stars history: Settings → My Stars.

## You don't accept that kind of gift

In Settings → Privacy and Security → Gifts you can switch off the kinds of gifts people may send you: regular, limited and unique gifts, Telegram Premium subscriptions and gifts from channels. A gift of a switched-off kind can't be sent: Telegram won't let the sender send it. The same section turns on the gift icon in chats — the gift button in the message field.

## Your app is out of date

In an old version of Telegram, newer kinds of messages may not open: the app says the message isn't supported by your version and asks you to update. Update Telegram and open the chat again.

## An NFT gift is gone

If a unique gift is missing, think about what may have happened to it:

- **It was transferred or sold.** It went to its new owner: recall whether you transferred it or put it up for sale. A sale for Stars shows in My Stars. How it works: [how to transfer a gift](https://shiba-bank.com/en/guides/transfer-telegram-gift).
- **It was sent to the TON blockchain.** For that you open My Profile → Gifts and choose to transfer the gift and send it via the blockchain. The gift becomes an NFT in a TON wallet: look for it there — wallets and marketplaces such as Getgems show these NFTs.
- **You did none of that.** Then someone may have used your account: end other sessions and set a cloud password. Step by step: [a gift was stolen: what to do and how to protect your account](https://shiba-bank.com/en/guides/protect-account).

> **Important:** Never share your Telegram login code or cloud password — not even with someone who promises to "find" or "return" a missing gift.

## If Stars from the bot didn't arrive

Stars bought in the Shiba Bank bot arrive on the account by @username, and the gift is then bought with them inside Telegram. If paid-for Stars didn't arrive, see [what to do if your Stars didn't arrive](https://shiba-bank.com/en/guides/order-not-received).

Stars for gifts can be bought in the Shiba Bank bot.

## Frequently asked questions

### Why did my gifts disappear on Telegram?
Most often the gift is hidden on your profile, was converted into Stars (possible within 7 days) or, if it is unique, was transferred, sold or sent to the blockchain. Check My Profile → Gifts and your Stars history.

### Why are gifts not showing on my profile?
A gift may have arrived hidden — that depends on the display setting in Privacy and Security → Gifts. Open the gift in the Gifts tab and choose Show. Other people's hidden gifts are visible to nobody but the owner.

### Why didn't I receive a gift on Telegram?
If the gift message isn't in your chat with the sender, the gift wasn't sent: they didn't have enough Stars, the payment failed or you switched off that kind of gift in your settings.

### Can I get back a gift I converted into Stars?
No. The conversion is final: the gift disappears and the Stars stay on your balance.

### What should I do if an NFT gift is gone and I didn't transfer it?
End other sessions and set a cloud password — the details are in the guide on [protecting your account](https://shiba-bank.com/en/guides/protect-account).
