A deleted Telegram account cannot be recovered: according to Telegram's FAQ, deleting an account is irreversible. Access to a live account can be regained, though — after a lost phone or SIM, a forgotten cloud password or a hack. Telegram identifies a user by the phone number, so nearly everything depends on whether you still have that number, or another device where you are already signed in.

## Can a deleted account be restored?

No. Telegram's FAQ says deleting an account is irreversible, and that covers both manual deletion and the self-destruction of an inactive account. If you sign up again with the same number, you become a new user: your history, contacts and groups do not return. People who have your number in their contacts are notified.

Under the Telegram Stars terms, any Stars left on a deleted account are forfeit. More in [how to delete a Telegram account](https://shiba-bank.com/en/guides/delete-account).

## I lost my phone or SIM card

The phone number is currently the only way Telegram can identify a user. What works:

1. **You are still signed in on another device** (a tablet, a computer, a second phone). Telegram may send the login code there, to the service chat called "Telegram". If the number is lost but the account is open, you can change the number and keep your chats, contacts and media: tap your phone number in Settings (just above the username) and choose Change Number.
2. **No devices, but the number is yours.** Ask your mobile operator to block the old SIM and issue a new one with the same number. Then sign in to Telegram with the code sent by SMS or a call.
3. **The phone was stolen.** Telegram's advice: turn on Two-Step Verification (the cloud password), end the session on the old device, and ask your operator to block the SIM.

If you cannot sign in, there is a support form at [telegram.org/support](https://telegram.org/support). But without the number and without a session on another device, Telegram cannot confirm the account is yours — do not count on getting it back.

## I forgot my cloud password

The cloud password is asked for together with the code when you sign in on a new device. If you cannot remember it, you have three options:

- **A recovery email is set.** On the password screen choose "Forgot password?" — a code arrives by email, and after you enter it the password is removed.
- **No email, but the account is open on another device.** Start a password reset: a 7-day timer begins, and during it the real owner can cancel the reset. When the time is up, the password is removed.
- **No email and no other signed-in device.** All that is left is deleting the account and creating a new one on the same number — the old data is gone. Per Telegram's documentation, such a deletion can be delayed by 7 days, and the real owner can cancel it in that time by confirming the number.

## My account was hacked

1. Sign in with your number and end the unknown sessions: Settings → Devices.
2. Set a cloud password and a recovery email.
3. If the intruder managed to set their own cloud password, follow the rules above: a password reset comes with a 7-day pause.
4. Write to support and warn your friends.

## The account is limited by the spam filter

That is not a lost account. After reports, the account can write only to people who have its number saved as a contact, and can reply to anyone who wrote first. Per Telegram's spam FAQ, a first-time limit usually lasts a few days. If you are sure it is a mistake, write to @SpamBot, Telegram's bot for these cases.

## Stars and gifts

Stars and gifts live in the account and follow it: regain access and you regain them. Lose the account for good, and the remaining Stars are forfeit under the Stars terms. While you have access, you can sell Stars to the Shiba Bank bot for USDT.

The bot sends Stars and Premium by @username and never asks for a login code or a cloud password.

## Frequently asked questions

### How do I recover a Telegram account?
It depends on the cause. Lost phone or SIM — get the number back through your operator or sign in on another device. Forgotten cloud password — reset it by email or with the 7-day reset. A deleted account cannot be recovered.

### Can I recover a Telegram account after deleting it?
No. Telegram's FAQ says deletion is irreversible. Signing up again with the same number creates an empty account.

### How do I recover a Telegram account with my phone number?
Enter the number when signing in — the code goes to another signed-in device, or comes by SMS or a call. If the number is gone, ask your operator for a new SIM with it.

### Can I recover a Telegram account without the phone number?
Only if you are still signed in somewhere: then you can change the number in Settings and keep everything. With no number and no open session, Telegram cannot return the account.

### What if I forgot my Telegram cloud password?
Tap "Forgot password?" and enter the code from your recovery email. With no email, start a reset on another signed-in device — the password is removed after 7 days, and the reset can be cancelled until then.

### Will my Stars and gifts come back if I recover the account?
Yes, as long as the account exists: Stars and gifts stay in it. If the account is deleted or lost for good, the remaining Stars are forfeit.
