Under Telegram's rules, sales of Stars are final: Telegram does not refund money for them. But some Stars can be returned by whoever received them — and in some cases they come back on their own.

## What can be returned

- **Stars paid for a message.** If you paid Stars to message someone who charges for incoming messages, they can return them with one tap — at their own choice.
- **A payment in a bot.** If a bot did not deliver a digital item you paid for, the bot can return the Stars. Send it the `/paysupport` command — that is how Telegram asks people to raise payment questions.
- **Bids at a gift auction.** Bids that do not win are returned after the auction ends.

## What cannot be returned

- **Star reactions** — they can be cancelled only at once, with "Undo" in the notice after sending; after that the Stars are with the channel.
- **Gifts.** A gift bought with Stars is not exchanged back. A regular gift can be converted into Stars within 7 days, but only by its recipient — [how to convert a gift into Stars](https://shiba-bank.com/en/guides/convert-gift-to-stars).
- **Buying Stars in the app.** Telegram does not refund money for purchased Stars.

## Stars bought in the Shiba Bank bot

If a paid order was not delivered, the bot either delivers it or returns the money — see [what to do if the Stars did not arrive](https://shiba-bank.com/en/guides/order-not-received). Stars in the wallet in the bot can be withdrawn to your account or spent in the bot — [the Stars wallet](https://shiba-bank.com/en/guides/stars-wallet).

## Can Stars be turned back into money?

Telegram does not exchange Stars back into money. Stars from your personal account can be sold to the Shiba Bank bot for USDT — that is a deal with the bot, not a refund: [how to sell Stars for USDT](https://shiba-bank.com/en/guides/sell-telegram-stars).
