How to buy a collectible (NFT) gift on Telegram: on the gift marketplace for Stars or GRAM, with an offer to the owner, at an auction or on Fragment. What the gift's card shows and what you can do with it next.

An NFT gift is an upgraded, collectible Telegram gift: it has a number, a model, a backdrop and a symbol, and each collection has only so many such combinations. You can buy one right inside Telegram — for Stars or GRAM (TON) — or on Fragment if the gift has been moved to the TON blockchain.

The Shiba Bank bot does not sell gifts: it sells the Stars you pay for them with inside Telegram.

Where to buy an NFT gift on Telegram

• Telegram's gift marketplace — gifts their owners have put up for sale. Pay with Stars or GRAM.
• An offer to the owner — when the gift you want isn't for sale.
• Auctions of new gifts — bids in Stars when a new collection comes out.
• Fragment and NFT marketplaces on TON — for gifts moved to the blockchain. Pay in GRAM from a TON wallet.

How to buy a gift on the Telegram marketplace: step by step

1. Open Settings → Send a Gift: every gift for sale is there, and you can buy one for yourself or for someone else. To buy a gift straight for a friend, you can also open their profile, tap ⋯ (⋮ on Android) and choose "Send a Gift".
2. Choose the "Collectible" filter — these are the gifts other users are selling.
3. Open a collection and narrow it down by model, backdrop or symbol.
4. Open a gift that suits you and check its card — what matters is described below.
5. Pay with Stars from your account balance — or in GRAM, if the seller accepts only GRAM. A gift for a friend can carry your signature and a comment.

Another road to an NFT gift: buy a regular gift that can be upgraded in Telegram's shop and upgrade it yourself — the model, backdrop and symbol are then drawn at random. What to check on the gift's card

• Model, backdrop and symbol — each with its rarity: how often this trait turns up in the collection.
• The number of the gift in its collection.
• The price — set by the seller, in Stars or GRAM.
• "Value" — the approximate resale price. Expand it and Telegram shows statistics such as the average sale price of other gifts in the same collection.

If the gift is not for sale: an offer to the owner

1. Open the gift on the owner's profile and tap ⋯ or ⋮. If an offer can be made for this gift, the menu has "Offer to Buy".
2. Set a price — in Stars or GRAM — and a time limit for the offer.
3. Your payment is reserved while the offer runs. If the owner declines or the time runs out, it comes straight back to your balance.
4. If the owner accepts, the gift is transferred to you automatically.

This is Telegram's official way to make a direct deal: Telegram itself holds the payment and hands over the gift, which protects both sides from scams.

New gifts: auctions

Telegram releases new gifts through auctions. Bids are placed in Stars over several rounds, and your place in the auction decides your gift's number: the top bid of round 1 gets gift #1. Lower bids carry over to the next round, and bids that never win are refunded automatically. Auctions are under Settings → Send a Gift and carry an "Auction" mark.

NFT gifts on Fragment and TON

Gifts that their owners moved to the TON blockchain are sold on Fragment, Telegram's own platform, in its Gifts section — at a fixed price or at auction. Prices there are in GRAM, and to buy you need a TON wallet such as Tonkeeper. A gift's page shows the same model, backdrop and symbol with their rarity. What you buy appears under My Assets on Fragment and can be used in Telegram.

Such gifts are also traded on other NFT marketplaces on TON — for example, Getgems.

How to pay: Stars and GRAM

• Stars come off your Telegram account balance. You can buy them in the app, on Fragment or in the Shiba Bank bot — with crypto, or with Russian and Belarusian cards, SBP and ERIP where your currency allows. Choose your Telegram account as the destination: the Stars arrive by @username through Fragment, usually within a minute. • GRAM is the coin of the TON network. Your GRAM balance in Telegram is topped up through Fragment.

What you can do with the gift

• Show it on your profile — or hide it, pin it to the top of the list or put it in a collection of your own. All your gifts are in My Profile → Gifts.
• Wear it as your status — the gift appears in your status, and your profile takes on its backdrop and symbol.
• Set a chat theme made from the gift — these themes unlock only for the gift's owner.
• Transfer it to someone else. Sometimes a transfer costs Stars or opens only after a certain date — Telegram shows this on the card.
• Sell it on the marketplace for Stars or GRAM; Telegram keeps a commission — see how to sell a gift.
• Move it to the TON blockchain as an NFT through Fragment. This needs two-step verification switched on, and it too may open only after a certain date.
• Craft a rarer gift by combining up to four collectible gifts of the same kind. The gifts you put in are used up, and success is not guaranteed.
