How to sell a gift in Telegram
How to sell a Telegram gift: a unique one for Stars inside Telegram or as an NFT on TON; a regular one can only be converted into Stars within 7 days. Why there is no Sell button, and what to do after 7 days.
A unique (upgraded) gift can be sold. A regular gift's card also has a "sell for … Stars" button, but that is conversion into Stars: the gift disappears, the Stars go to your balance, and it works only within 7 days of receiving the gift.
Way 1. Sell it for Stars in Telegram
- Open the unique gift on your profile.
- Tap Sell and set a price.
- When someone buys it, the Stars arrive on your account balance.
Telegram shows the rules, the fee and the timing on the gift's card.
Way 2. Export it to TON and sell it as an NFT
A unique gift can be exported to the TON blockchain through Fragment and sold on an NFT marketplace. Telegram states on the gift's card when it becomes possible to export it.
Why there is no Sell button
- The gift is regular. Only a unique gift can be listed for sale. A regular gift has a "sell for … Stars" button in its Value row instead — that is conversion into Stars, and it shows only for 7 days after you receive the gift. After that it disappears too — see how to convert a gift into Stars.
- You received the unique gift recently. It can't always be listed right away: Telegram tells you how long until it can be resold.
