Crypto wallets in Telegram
Which crypto wallets there are in Telegram — Walt (formerly Wallet), CryptoBot, xRocket and Tonkeeper, how a wallet bot differs from a wallet of your own, and how to pay for Stars and Premium with them.
People use two kinds of crypto wallets in Telegram. In wallet bots — Walt, CryptoBot, xRocket — the service holds the coins and you sign in with your Telegram account. In a wallet of your own, such as Tonkeeper, only you hold the keys. Here is how they differ and how to pay for Stars with them.
Wallet bots: Walt, CryptoBot, xRocket
- They open right inside Telegram, as a bot or a mini app. The service that used to be called Wallet in Telegram is now Walt: search for @walt. By Walt's own help, the old @wallet handle still leads to the same app.
- The service holds the coins. In Walt's main section there is no recovery phrase: access to the wallet is access to your Telegram account. For keeping your own keys Walt offers a separate DeFi Account, where you hold the recovery phrase yourself.
- For some operations the service may ask you to confirm your identity — that is what "wallet verification" means.
- They are topped up by a transfer from an exchange or another wallet, and some also have a built-in exchange between users (P2P).
- Inside the service you can send coins to other users, make cheques and pay in bots that accept that wallet.

A wallet of your own: Tonkeeper and other TON wallets
- An app on your phone or computer. Only you hold the keys: access is restored with a recovery phrase of 24 words.
- It holds coins of the TON network — GRAM and USDT on TON.
- It connects to sites and mini apps through TON Connect.
Telegram has also announced its own non-custodial Gram Wallet. It is a separate product from Walt: on 31 August 2026 Pavel Durov wrote that it was ready and open to a select group of users first, with a gradual rollout after that (his channel).
Never share your wallet's recovery phrase with anyone — not with support, a bot or an "admin". With it, a wallet is emptied in a minute.
How to pay for Stars and Premium with crypto
In the Shiba Bank bot, Stars and Premium are paid with USDT and GRAM on TON:
- Choose the number of Stars and a crypto way to pay.
- The bot shows an invoice: the address, the amount and a comment.
- Pay from your wallet with the Tonkeeper or MyTonWallet button, through TON Connect in the Shiba Bank app, or by hand — always with the comment from the invoice.
- The bot finds the payment itself and sends the Stars.
You can also pay from the balance of crypto bots in Telegram — Crypto Bot, xRocket and others. More: how to buy Stars with crypto.
Frequently asked questions
Where is the wallet in Telegram?
The crypto service formerly called Wallet in Telegram is now Walt: find it by searching for @walt (walt.io). Telegram's own non-custodial Gram Wallet is a separate product that is opening to users in stages. CryptoBot and xRocket are separate bots, and Tonkeeper is a separate app.
How does a wallet bot differ from Tonkeeper?
In a wallet bot the service holds the coins and you sign in with your Telegram account. In Tonkeeper only you hold the keys, and access is restored with the recovery phrase.
Can I pay for Stars from Tonkeeper?
Yes. The bot's invoice has a Tonkeeper button: it opens a transfer with the right amount and comment — you only confirm it.
Why does the transfer need a comment?
The comment tells the bot which order the payment belongs to. Without it the payment is not found automatically — then write to support and attach a link to the transaction.
What is wallet verification?
Confirming your identity, which a wallet service may ask for some operations. The wallet service does it itself — the Shiba Bank bot does not need it.
