Telegram Premium stickers are stickers with large full-screen animations, drawn by Telegram's artists. Only Telegram Premium subscribers can send them, in any chat, but everyone in the chat sees the animation — with or without a subscription. Ordinary stickers work for everybody; the subscription unlocks sending this special collection.
What are Premium stickers
When Telegram launched Premium, it described them this way: dozens of stickers with impressive full-screen animations that subscribers can send in any chat, with effects visible to all users. The collection is updated by Telegram's artists, and a full list of Premium stickers is kept in the official @premium channel.
They are not the same as Premium emoji: emoji go inside the text of a message, while a sticker is a message of its own. They are also different from message effects in the Send button menu: in private chats anyone can use six effects, and Premium adds hundreds more, including all the effects from Premium stickers.
What you see without Premium
- The full-screen animation of a Premium sticker when a subscriber sends it: Telegram's documentation says the animated effect plays for all users, including those without Premium.
- Animated custom emoji in other people's messages: Telegram says all users, Premium or not, can see them.
You cannot send a Premium sticker yourself without a subscription: this is a rule of Telegram itself. All other stickers — regular, user-made, video and animated packs — are available to everyone, and anyone can make a sticker pack.
How to send a Premium sticker
- Get Telegram Premium for 3, 6 or 12 months, for yourself or as a gift.
- Open the sticker panel next to the message field. When Premium launched, Telegram put these stickers in their own section below recently used ones. The layout can differ between apps and versions.
- Pick a sticker and send it to the chat.
To add an ordinary pack, tap a sticker in a chat and choose "Add", as described in the sticker guide.
How to remove Premium stickers and effects
- A pack in your list. The settings have a section for stickers and emoji (its name and path depend on the app and version) with the list of your packs, and you can remove any of them. Stickers you have already sent or received stay in the conversation.
- A sticker in a chat. Delete the message with the sticker like any other message.
- Full-screen animations. The settings have a Power Saving section with separate toggles for autoplay, animations and effects. Telegram made them to save battery, but they also tone down motion in chats. The names of the toggles depend on the app and its version.

Can you make your own Premium stickers
The collection of stickers with full-screen effects is updated by Telegram's artists, and the page on creating stickers at core.telegram.org names no way for users to make them. Regular stickers can be made by anyone, in the app or with the @Stickers bot. Anyone can also create a custom emoji set: Telegram calls that platform open.
