How to find and add a Telegram sticker pack, search stickers by emoji and words, set favorite stickers, delete a pack, tell animated stickers from static ones, and what moving stickers allows.
The easiest way to add a sticker pack on Telegram is straight from a chat: tap any sticker from the pack, the whole pack opens, and you can add it in one go. A link like t.me/addstickers/pack_name does the same. You search stickers in the sticker panel and mark favorites by pressing and holding a sticker. None of this takes Telegram Premium.
How to add a sticker pack on Telegram
- From a chat. Tap a sticker from the pack — the pack opens and can be added whole.
- By link. Open
t.me/addstickers/pack_name. Emoji sets use a different link:t.me/addemoji/pack_name. That is how Telegram's links work, and the documentation describes them.
Added packs are listed in the settings: in the mobile apps the section is called Stickers and Emoji. You can share a pack by sending its link — your friends add the whole pack.
How to search stickers on Telegram
The sticker panel next to the message field has a search field. Since February 2025 the search is powered by AI: Telegram says it returns results from millions of custom stickers and emoji uploaded by users, not only from official packs, and it understands queries like "thinking monkey" or "space dog". Search works in 29 languages — Telegram names English, Spanish, Arabic and Hindi among them.
Emoji suggestions help too: when you type a single emoji, Telegram suggests stickers not only from your own packs but from other popular ones.
Favorite stickers on Telegram
Favorites are a separate tab at the top of the sticker panel, marked with a star: the stickers you always want at hand. To add one, tap and hold the sticker, then choose to add it to favorites. You remove it with the same press and hold.
The number of favorites is limited. According to Telegram's documentation, 5 stickers without a subscription and 10 with Premium.
Don't confuse this with the "Saved Messages" chat, where you keep notes and files.
The order of your packs
You can arrange your packs in the order you like, and Telegram syncs that order across your devices. Where exactly it is done depends on the app and its version: look in the sticker settings and in the sticker panel.
Animated, moving and static stickers
Telegram has three kinds of stickers:

"Live" or "moving" stickers are the animated and video ones: they move right in the chat. A transparent sticker is a regular sticker without a background: Telegram itself advises a transparent background, a white outline and a shadow so a sticker stands out. A video sticker file for a pack must be WEBM with the VP9 codec, so a GIF has to be re-encoded into such a clip first. The file requirements are on Telegram's page for developers.

How to delete a sticker pack on Telegram
Open the list of your packs in the settings (in the mobile apps the section is called Stickers and Emoji), find the pack and remove it from the list — the delete control looks a little different on Android, iPhone and desktop. Stickers you've already sent stay in chats, and the pack can be added again by its link.
Can you move stickers out of Telegram
What is officially described goes the other way, into Telegram: since version 7.8 Telegram apps support an import API through which other apps can bring stickers into Telegram (description). The official documentation names no way to export a sticker pack from Telegram into another messenger.
Inside Telegram it is simple: send another person the pack's link and they add it themselves.
