Can Telegram Stars be refunded?
Can you get Telegram Stars back: buying Stars, Stars paid for messages, payments in bots, reactions, gifts and auction bids. Who can return Stars and what to do.
Under Telegram's rules, sales of Stars are final: Telegram does not refund money for them. But some Stars can be returned by whoever received them — and in some cases they come back on their own.
What can be returned
- Stars paid for a message. If you paid Stars to message someone who charges for incoming messages, they can return them with one tap — at their own choice.
- A payment in a bot. If a bot did not deliver a digital item you paid for, the bot can return the Stars. Send it the
/paysupportcommand — that is how Telegram asks people to raise payment questions. - Bids at a gift auction. Bids that do not win are returned after the auction ends.
What cannot be returned
- Star reactions — they can be cancelled only at once, with "Undo" in the notice after sending; after that the Stars are with the channel.
