- Right after sending. A notification with an undo button appears — while it's on screen, you can cancel the reaction and keep your Stars.
- Later. The Stars are already with the channel and can't be returned. You can only remove your name from the list of supporters: turn off "Show me in Top Senders".

How to turn off Stars in your channel
If you are an admin and don't want Star reactions under posts:
- Open "Channel Settings" → "Reactions".
- Turn off paid reactions.

How to turn off messages for Stars
If you charged Stars for private messages and now want people to write to you without paying:
- Open "Settings" → "Privacy and Security" → "Messages".
- Instead of charging for messages, choose who can write to you.
To stop charging just one person, use "Remove Fee" in your chat with them. In a group, the owner turns off the message fee in "Permissions". More in messages for Stars.
How to cancel a subscription paid in Stars
Paid subscriptions to channels and bots that take Stars every month are gathered in My Stars → "My subscriptions". Tap a subscription and choose "Cancel Subscription": access stays until the end of the paid month, and nothing more is charged.
How to remove gifts from your profile
Gifts bought with Stars can't be deleted, but you can hide them from your profile so only you see them. A regular gift can be converted to Stars in the first 7 days, and then it disappears. All the ways are in gifts on your profile.
If you delete your account, the Stars on its balance are lost: Telegram's rules don't refund them. Unneeded Stars are better spent or sold.
