Gift bots on Telegram

What Telegram gift bots do: can you sell a gift through a bot, how NFT gift marketplaces work, how to convert a gift to Stars, and how to spot a bot that steals gifts.

Gift bots on Telegram come in three kinds: marketplaces where NFT gifts are bought and sold (Portals, MRKT, Tonnel and others), bots that sell Stars to pay for gifts, and scam bots that want other people's gifts. You can sell a gift, convert it to Stars or send it to someone without any bot, right inside Telegram. The Shiba Bank bot does not sell, buy or swap gifts: it sells Stars, and the gifts themselves are bought with those Stars in Telegram.

What a gift bot can and cannot do

  • Send a gift. A bot can give a gift to a person or a channel, paying in Stars from its own balance. The receiver cannot convert such a gift to Stars: the sendGift method description says so.
  • Manage your gifts, only with your permission. Since May 2026 every user can connect a bot to their profile: Settings → Chat Automation (Telegram's announcement). You choose the rights the bot gets: view gifts and Stars, convert regular gifts to Stars, transfer and upgrade gifts, transfer Stars (list of rights). Premium is not required to connect a bot. Since a bot with these rights can hand gifts and Stars to other people, give it only the rights it needs.

How to sell gifts: with a bot and without one

Only a unique gift can be sold: open it in your profile, tap "Sell" and set a price in Stars or GRAM. The buyer pays through Telegram and the gift moves to them automatically. Step by step: how to sell an NFT gift and how to sell a gift on Telegram. A regular gift cannot be sold: the only option is converting it to Stars in the first 7 days.

NFT gift bots: how marketplaces work

Third-party marketplaces run alongside Telegram, for example Portals, MRKT and Tonnel. They do not belong to Telegram: MRKT states on its site that it is not affiliated with Telegram. How exactly they work depends on the service, but usually it goes like this:

  • each has a bot or a mini app in Telegram;
  • you first hand the gift to the service, and it holds it until you sell or withdraw it (MRKT calls this storage a Secure Vault);
  • settlements are in GRAM, the coin of the TON network;
  • fees, withdrawal charges and timings differ from service to service: read the terms before handing over a gift;
  • some also offer games played with gifts, with their own rules and risks.

Another route is to withdraw a unique gift to the TON blockchain (when Telegram allows it, the gift's card says so; it needs a cloud password turned on beforehand) and sell it on Fragment or an NFT marketplace such as Getgems. The gift then sits in your wallet, not with a service. All collections are in the NFT gift catalog.

Important

Handing over a gift cannot be undone. Take a service's deposit account name only from its official bot or channel, never from a private message.

How to convert gifts: no bot needed

Telegram does the conversion itself: the "sell for … Stars" button on a regular gift's card, within 7 days of receiving it. The gift disappears, you get fewer Stars than it cost, and your profile rating goes down. After 7 days conversion is closed for everyone, and no bot can reopen it. To swap one gift for another, sell yours and buy the one you want on Telegram's marketplace, or make the owner an offer.

You can sell Stars from your account to the Shiba Bank bot for USDT on the TON network; the bot shows the rate before you sell: how to sell Stars.

A bot for buying gifts: Stars in the bot, the gift in Telegram

Telegram itself sells the gifts: Settings → Send a Gift, or a person's profile (⋯ / ⋮ → Send a Gift); other users' gifts are under the "Collectible" filter. You cannot pay in roubles or dollars directly: the price is in Stars, and some collectible gifts are priced in GRAM.

In the Shiba Bank bot you can buy Stars for your own account or for a friend by @username, paying by card or crypto (in Russia also by SBP and Mir cards; Belarusian cards and ERIP for the BYN currency). Stars arrive through Fragment, and prices are on the prices page. You can also give a friend Telegram Premium for 3, 6 or 12 months: how to gift Premium.

How to spot a bot that steals gifts

The key question is what access the bot asks for. If it asks you to hand over a gift or Stars, you are trusting a service. Connecting it through Chat Automation gives it access to your gifts and Stars. A login code opens your entire account, and nobody needs it. Signs of a scam:

  • It asks for a login code, a cloud password or a wallet recovery phrase. That is an account takeover: how not to fall for scammers.
  • It tells you to connect it to your profile for a "giveaway", a "cheque" or a "gift check". If you already did, remove the bot in the same section and end unknown sessions under Settings → Devices.
  • It promises to convert a gift to Stars after 7 days or offers to "buy" a regular gift: nobody can do that.
  • It asks you to hand the gift over first "for verification" or "to a guarantor". A safer deal is one that Telegram itself carries out: its marketplace and offers to the owner.
  • It asks for a "verification" or "fee" in advance. An honest service does not need it.
  • It promises gifts with no payment for subscribing or inviting people: where Stars come from.

Frequently asked questions

What gift bots are there on Telegram?

NFT gift marketplaces such as Portals, MRKT and Tonnel, bots that sell Stars to buy gifts, and scam bots. Telegram itself buys, sells and transfers the gifts, no bot required.

Can you sell gifts through a bot?

A unique gift, yes: on a third-party marketplace you first hand it to the service, and in Telegram it sells without any bot. A regular gift cannot be sold, only converted to Stars in the first 7 days.

Which bot should I use for NFT gifts?

You can sell an NFT gift without a bot, in Telegram itself or on Fragment. If you want a third-party marketplace, compare fees and withdrawal terms, and take the bot's name only from the service's official channel.

Is there a bot that converts a gift to Stars?

Telegram does it itself, with a button, in the first 7 days. A bot can press it for you only with the rights you gave it and cannot extend the deadline, so a promise of conversion after 7 days is a scam.

How do I buy a gift through a bot with roubles?

Gifts are bought in Telegram for Stars, and Stars can be bought in the Shiba Bank bot by SBP or a Mir card; they arrive on the account by @username.

Is it safe to connect a bot to my profile?

Only if you trust it as you trust yourself: with rights over gifts and Stars it can convert and transfer gifts and move Stars. Grant only the rights it needs and remove a bot you no longer use.

Does Shiba Bank sell gifts?

No. The bot sells Stars and Telegram Premium and buys Stars back for USDT; gifts are bought with Stars in Telegram.
