How to add music to your Telegram profile
How to add music to your Telegram profile on iPhone, Android and desktop, how to remove a track, who can see it and whether you need Premium. Step by step, with the privacy setting.
To add music to your Telegram profile, play an audio file in a chat and tap "Add to Profile" in the media player. The track appears in a bar under your profile photo, and each further track turns it into a playlist. You don't need Premium. Telegram launched the feature on 31 August 2025, so your app has to be up to date.
How to add music to your Telegram profile
Any audio file that is already in one of your chats will do: a private chat, a group or a channel. Streaming services are not used. If the song isn't in any chat yet, send it as a file first, for example to your Saved Messages.
On a phone (iPhone and Android):
- Open the chat with the audio file and start playing it.
- Open the media player and tap "Add to Profile".
Another way: select the track in the chat and tap "Save to…" → "Profile". Telegram's official blog describes both ways.
On desktop: right-click the audio file and choose "Save to…" → "Profile".
Keep adding tracks one by one: Telegram builds the playlist for you. If you add a song that is already on your profile, it isn't duplicated but moves to the top, as Telegram's developer documentation explains.
Do you need Telegram Premium for profile music?

How to remove music from your profile
Open the track in the media player. For a song that is already on your profile, Telegram shows a removal option:
- iPhone: the player says "This audio is visible on your profile" and shows a "Remove" button.
- Android: tap "Remove from Profile" in the player.
- Desktop: right-click the track and choose "Remove from Profile" (some versions just say "Delete").
The wording differs a little between versions. Look for "remove" or "delete" next to the word profile.
Who can see the music on your profile
Whoever your privacy settings allow. Profile music has its own setting. In Telegram's API documentation it is called "Saved Music" and controls whether other people can see the songs pinned to your profile.
Open Settings → Privacy and Security and look for that item. As with other privacy settings, you can pick "Everybody", "My Contacts" or "Nobody" and add exceptions: people or whole groups who won't see your music.
If you don't want to show your playlist, choose "Nobody". The tracks stay on your profile, and you can still play them.
What else you can set up on your profile
Music is one of several profile details. Others sit next to it:
- an emoji status beside your name;
- your birthday on the profile;
- gifts on your profile, which you can hide;
- your online time: what "last seen recently" means and how to hide it.
