Fragment removed KYC: what changed and how to buy Stars now
Overnight into 2 November 2026, Fragment stopped requiring identity verification (KYC). Telegram Stars and Premium on fragment.com can again be bought without an ID document, a selfie or the Sumsub service: connecting a crypto wallet and your Telegram account is enough. The verification section disappeared from the site, and the addresses where people used to pass it now lead to the home page, reports the Russian outlet Kod.ru. Neither Fragment nor Telegram has announced the change officially.
What changed on Fragment
Fragment introduced its identity check in November 2024, and for many people it became a barrier: without it, Stars and Premium could not be bought on the site, and reviews describe refusals that came within seconds and without a reason. That step is now gone.
| Since November 2024 | Since 2 November 2026 | |
|---|---|---|
| Identity check | Required, through Sumsub | Not needed: the site has no verification section |
| What to upload | Email, phone, name, ID document and a face scan | Nothing: you connect a wallet and Telegram |
| If the check failed | No Stars or Premium on Fragment | This step no longer exists |
We checked the Stars and Premium purchase pages on fragment.com on 2 November 2026: neither has an identity-check step. Why Fragment dropped verification, and whether for good, has not been said. If the check comes back, the site will show it at checkout. Nothing has been reported separately about the auctions of usernames and +888 numbers.
How to buy Telegram Stars on Fragment without KYC
- Open fragment.com/stars/buy and check the address: fragment.com only, with no extra letters or hyphens.
- Connect a wallet with the Connect TON button — for example Keeper (formerly Tonkeeper) — and your account with Connect Telegram. On a phone, the second button is in the hamburger menu.
- In the recipient field, pick yourself or type another person's @username.
- Enter the amount — from 50 Stars — or choose a ready package.
- Choose how to pay: GRAM, USDT or USDC, and the network your coins are on.
- Press the buy button and confirm the transfer in your wallet. The Stars arrive on the recipient's account.
No seed phrase is needed to buy. If a site, a bot or "support" asks you to enter it, that is a scam: what a seed phrase is and why you never share it.
What you can pay with on Fragment
| Coin | Networks |
|---|---|
| GRAM (formerly TON) | TON |
| USDT | TON, Ethereum, Polygon |
| USDC | Ethereum, Base, Polygon |
You still cannot pay by bank card on Fragment: dropping verification did not add ordinary money as a payment method. Where to get the coins: GRAM: what it is and how to buy it and how to buy USDT. The network adds its own fee on top of the price.

Telegram Premium on Fragment without KYC
On Fragment, Premium is bought as a gift at fragment.com/premium/gift: for yourself or a friend by @username, for 3, 6 or 12 months. There is no one-month Premium there. It is a one-off purchase with no auto-renewal, paid with the same coins as Stars. What the subscription gives — in what is Telegram Premium; how to give it to a friend — in gift Telegram Premium.
Do you still need to buy a "Fragment verification"?
No. While the check was mandatory, marketplaces such as FunPay sold "I will pass Fragment verification for you", and the middlemen asked for access to your wallet, your account or photos of your documents. Now there is nothing to pass and no reason to pay for it.
Be careful with anyone who, after the news, offers a "verified Fragment account", "Fragment API access" or "a purchase around the restrictions" in exchange for a seed phrase, a login code or a prepayment. The real Fragment asks for none of this. Common schemes are described in how to avoid scams on Telegram, and why Fragment has no public API — in Telegram Stars API.
If you have no crypto
Fragment accepts only crypto. If you have none, you can buy Stars in the Shiba Bank bot: with crypto from any wallet or crypto bot — USDT, GRAM and other coins — and, if you are in Russia or Belarus, with local cards and bank transfers. The bot buys the Stars on Fragment itself and credits them to the recipient's @username: no access to your account and no wallet needed. Premium in the bot is paid with crypto or with Stars from the bot's wallet, for 3, 6 or 12 months.
The bot's prices are on the Stars prices and Premium pages.
